PCIe-6251 is currently supported in MatLab xPC target toolbox, but end of life notice has been issued with an end date of Sep.2012. We would like to make the switch to its replacement PCIe-6351 but MatLab currently does not have a driver to support it in xPC target toolbox. Does anyone know if a direct swap is possible, or do we have to wait till MatLab provides a specific driver for the PCIe-6351?

According to MathWorks website, it looks like the 6351 is compatible. So you're in good shape.

Yes, the PCIe-6351 is supported in the DAQ Toolbox, but not when ran as a data aquisition device under xPC Target. It seems the xPC Target interface supports a fraction of the devices found in the DAQ Toolbox.

Here is the list for xPC Target compatability...

I see now. I'm glad you pointed out that difference to me. I regret to say that driver compatibility with xPC is a decision left up to the folks at Mathworks. I hate to pass you around like this, but if you haven't already I would suggest contacting them directly to see if a driver is in the works. If there is anything more I can do for you from our end, please let me know.

What are the chances that I could just change to the new card, without updating the driver, and that it would work? The cards have identical connector pin assignments and the only major difference looks to be the sampling rates.

I cannot say without the system infront of me. I'm sorry. Mathworks is the right group to contact.

I've been in contact with the folks at MathWorks and they are presenting the issue to their engineers. Most of them were on holiday last week and I hope to hear something from them within the next few weeks. I will post their reply for the future benefit of this forum.

Hello,
We are trying to use the PCIe 6351 with xPC target as well. So I am wondering if you ever tried using 6351 to see if any existing driver works for it? If you end up writing your own driver, would you mind sharing?
Thanks
