PCI 6251 with LabView5.1 on Win98

What should I do to make work a NI PCI 6251 board with LabView5.1 on Win98?

Thanks,

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but as far as I know, you're several steps removed from getting that combination to work together.

1. The 6251 is an M-series board which requires the DAQmx driver.

2. The DAQmx driver is only compatible with LabVIEW 7 or later.

3. LabVIEW 7 doesn't support Windows 98.  At least not 7.1.  Less sure about 7.0.

4. LabVIEW 7.x isn't available for purchase anymore anyway.

Something's gotta give...   The cheapest path forward may be to buy a board or two that can run under LV 5 and the traditional NI-DAQ driver.  You'll probably need at least 1 E-series board and maybe others to provide functionality similar to what's available in an M-series 6251.  Depends on what you need it to do.

CAUTION! New LabVIEW adopters -- it's too late for me, but you *can* save yourself. The new subscription policy for LabVIEW puts NI's hand in your wallet for the rest of your working life. Are you sure you're *that* dedicated to LabVIEW? (Summary of my reasons in this post, part of a voluminous thread of mostly complaints starting here).
