PCI 5153 fitted desktop

Hi,

Is anyone using PCI-5153 digitizer?  We have an Dell Optiplex 980 in lab. But because this digitizer is so long (357mm), we do not have enought space in the desktop chassis to fit the card since the hard drive is one the same height with PCI slot. And the frame of the hard drive can not be removed. Can you recommend a desktop that can fit this card?

Hi!

PCI 5153 has the following dimentions: 21.6 × 2.0 × 13.0 cm  (8.5 × 0.8 × 5.1 in.)

I have the following computer on my desk, DELL Precision T3500 and I tried PCI 5153 in it and I was able to fit it in my computer into a PCI slot and it worked just fine. So to fit PCI 5153 you will definitely need to shop around for a bigger desktop chassis.

Thank you for your help. The PCI 5153 we have dimensions is 35.5 x 2.0 X 11.3 cm which is bigger than yours. I tried it on Dell Precision T7500 and it fits. But I am not sure if T3500 or T3600 can also fits. Thank you.

You are correct. The PCI version of 5153 has the dimentions of 35.5 × 2.0 × 11.3 cm (14.0 × 0.8 × 4.4 in.) and the PXI version is 21.6 × 2.0 × 13.0 cm  (8.5 × 0.8 × 5.1 in.). I have done the test with a PCI 5153 (I made a slight mistake in my previous post) and I can confirm that PCI 5153 will fit into Dell Precision T3500.

Do you have Dell Precision T3600 around? I wonder if the PCI 5153 can also fit with Precison T3600? Thank you

Hi Wei,

Unfortunately I don't, although the external dimentions of both chassis are very similar, their internal designs are different.

T3500: (HxWxD) 17.64” x 6.73” x 18.54”;  448mm x 171mm x 471mm

T3600: (HxWxD) 16.30" x 6.79" x 18.54"; 414mm x 172.6mm x 471mm

To be certain if it fits or not you will just have to find T3600 and try it out.
