No eligible NI-DAQmx Simulated Device

Solved!
Go to solution

Hello everyone,

I'm trying to develop an application for a PXI 6132, but I don't have the hardware yet, so I would like to start this with a simulated device, unfortunately when I'm at MAX I see no device at all to choose, so I was wondering what can I do and I can't wait for the hardware to arrive.

I don't want to mess up my NI installations so that's the reason I'm asking through this media.

I attached a couple of pics about this problem.

Any ideas?

I have:
- LabVIEW 8.6

- NI-DAQmx 8.7.2

Thank you very much in advance 🙂

Right click on Devices and Interfaces and select Create New.

Then select Simulated NIDaqmx....

Scroll down to the S Series and expand that branch, you will find the PXI 6132 in there.

Depending on which version of MAX and Daqmx you have, it may or may not be there. They have added more simulated device selections over the years.

The actual way to solve this (I realize) is just to update MAX, I was working with the MAX that was included with LabVIEW 8.6, so I downloaded NIDAQ930f2.exe and voilà, it worked.

Now I'm able to virtualize my devices.

I hope this could help someone with the same doubt/problem.

Have a nice day.
