I what way are you trying to acquire data?

Do you want to just analyse the data?
In that case I would suggest to just acquire the data in LabVIEW and save it as an excel, csv, ... after which you just load it in GNU Octave

If you want to directly control the data acquisition I would suggest to create a control program in LabVIEW and control it via Octave.
This can be done in a couple of ways:

• Using TCP/IP and the loopback address.
