Hello,
I am trying to install NI-DAQmx 9.3 on a computer that has Labview 2010. I downloaded the driver package from here:
http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/2337/lang/en
The installation almost finishes and then I keep getting this error:
The "NI-PAL 2.6.5f0" installation has failed with the following error:
The installation package could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that it is a valid Windows Application Installer package.
Continue? (Yes, No)
I select 'yes' to continue but the installation ends up failing.
Any ideas on why this is happening or how I can fix this problem?
Thanks

What operating system are you running? Is this an upgrade or a fresh install? Are you running as an Administrator?
Thanks,
Sean

I tried it in Windows 7 and XP. It didn't work for either of them. Yes I have administrator privileges. It was a fresh install.
I actually just tried NI-DAQmx 9.2.3 and it worked... no errors or anything. 9.2.3 will suffice for our application but its just weird that I was getting those NI-PAL errors.

If you check in Measurement & Automation Explorer and expand the software list, what verions of NI-PAL does it list? NI-PAL is our lowest level of drivers that communicate between the computer and all the other drivers, so this obviously got installed with the 9.2.3 install. It could be a corrupted installer that occurred when downloading. If the version of PAL that got installed by the 9.2.3 installer is the same as the one for 9.3, then you should be able to upgrade to 9.3 (because it won't try to install PAL at all). You may try to re-download the installer for 9.3, but for all intents and purposes, 9.2.3 will work for any device that the 9.3 would (at least for now).
Thanks,
Sean
