Hi JustinR,
Given this information, you may want to try resetting your device or driver for traditional DAQ for the DAQ card that will be communicating iwith your SCXI cards. This KnowledgeBase article can give you more direction about resetting for a traditionalDAQ driver. (It is about switching from traditionalDAQ to DAQmx, but the process is the same). Additionally, can you try following the steps in this KnowledgeBase article below? This will help direct you through other troubleshooting steps you can take to find your SCXI modules correctly in MAX:
SCXI Module Auto Detect Doesn't Find Correct Modules in Measurement &Automation Explorer: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/FA32B0EAEEA81D2586256D5200693BD2?OpenDocument

Unfortunately, none of thsoe steps work. I can manually add the module under the Legacy tree and test the chassis and verify the Traditional drivers control the chassis. As soon as I exit out of NI MAX though, the module is essentially deleted from the Traditional tree. Is there any other possibilities? Is this something that may be limited to a Windows 7 system? Previously I had no issues when runnning XP.

Hi Justin,
You are correct. Support for your device and Traditional DAQ was only supported in Windows XP. Traditional DAQ also will not work on a 64 bit computer. If you wanted to try and only use DAQmx on Windows 7, you could use DAQmx 9.3 (this is the newest version that would be able to work with your SCXI 1120/D) as you can see here :
NI- DAQmx and NI-DAQ Driver Support: SCXI : http://www.ni.com/white-paper/6914/en/
The SCXI 1120/D was originally used with Traditional DAQ, but still should maintian the same functionality with NI-DAQmx if you are trying to use it on a Windows 7 computer.
Best regards.
Anna
