NI 9234 software trigger

Hi,

I am a beginner in Labview and DAQ as well. I plan to buy NI 9234 and 1 slot cDAQ NI 9171 in order to work with 4 accelerometers. I know that I cannot use hardware trigger in this type of DAQ. Could anyone can help me whether or not the DAQ can be defined software trigger ?

For my case, I need DAQ will collect the data when sample value larger than 1g and stop to collect when sample value smaller than 1g.

Thanks a lot.

Tom

Hi Tom,

You can use a software trigger with the NI 9234. This forum:

http://forums.ni.com/t5/Measurement-Studio-for-VC/am-looking-for-any-example-vi-s-for-impact-modal-a...

includes an example of software triggering with the NI 9234.

Also, since you are new to DAQ and LabVIEW, here is a document which discusses 10 NI-DAQmx functions. There is also a section on triggering:
