Multiple channel acquisition of 1 AI and 1 counter, is it possible?

I have a NI 6023 board; I think this board have only 1 DMA channel.
I have to acquire in buffered mode an analog input and and the value of one internal counter (connected to a digital encoder).
I red that it is possible to do multiple acquisition of 2 or more analog channels. Is it possible to do multiple acquisition of one analog channel plus one counter?
(If it is possible, I can configure one DAQ-STC counter to do "simple event counting", and acquire the value of the counter every X us, in the same manner of a digitized analog input).

You definitely can do that with your board.
The first thing you need to determine is if both AI and counter operations will need to be synchronized or not.
If they do, you can use the AI Start Scan signal as the gate signal of the counter, and configure the counter as buffered event counter.
When doing that, at each time a Scan starts, you will transfer the counter value to a buffer.
