MAX recognizes device as legacy not mx

Solved!

I have installed a PCI-6071E as device 1 and a PCI-6713 as device 2 on my PC, with an RTSI cable connecting them.  Under the Configure heading in MAX, both devices are listed under the Traditional NI-DAQ group, but only the PCI-6713 is listed under the NI-DAQmx group, as device 2.  Is there a DAQmx driver for the 6071E?

Hi Jamesu,

DAQmx should support both devices--which version of each DAQ driver do you have installed?  One helpful piece of information to gather would be a report of the NI Software that you have installed on your system (you can do this from MAX by selecting File » Create Report).  You also might want to take a look at the following KnowledgeBase articles.  This problem can be seen when the MAX database is corrupt or when necessary services are not running:

John,

Thank you for the tips.  I tried them, but unfortunately without success.  I also upgraded the pc in question to WinXP SP3, to no avail.  Finally, in our collection I found another PCI-6071E and replaced the original card.  The new card works - MAX recognizes it.  I will have to see about getting the first card repaired.  However, I'm up and running again.

Best regards,

Jim
