M series Daq hangs on finite acquisition even within MAX with/without inputs

I have had "hangs" during analog input using finite sampling on both an M series and S series DAQ in my 1050 chassis. The controller is a cardbus 8310. The units work fine in "on demand" mode. The problem occurs in MAX as well as within Labview.
The acquisition appears to get to the last point and then stops cold. No error is reported. The test panel window, in MAX, can be closed but a self-test will not run because the unit is still "allocated". I have removed DAQMX and MAX and re-installed and the problem persists.
HELP!

Hello Greg,

Thanks for contacting National Instruments.

First we should make sure that the driver for the Cardbus is correctly installed.  This forum post and this knowledgebase go over how to ensure the Cardbus has been properly installed on your laptop.

I see that you have reinstalled DAQmx.  Which version of DAQmx do you have installed on your computer?  I would recommend ensuring that you have the latest version of DAQmx installed on the computer.  Also, could you try running the shipping examples Acq&Graph Voltage-Int Clk and Cont Acq&Graph Voltage-Int Clk that are located in the Example Finder (Help -> Find Examples).  These examples are located in the path Hardware Input and Output -> DAQmx -> Analog Measurements -> Voltage.  These two examples are the most basic hardware timed analog input VIs available.  Please let me know if you receive any errors (Error code and description) or if the program “hangs” in either execution.  Also if you could let me know which M and S series devices you are using, that would be great.

I am not quite clear on what you mean by the program “hangs.”  This could indicate a communication issue between the laptop and the PXI chassis.  Does MAX allow you to press the stop button before the test panel execution is complete?  If so, this should clear any activity from the DAQ device and allow you to run the self test.  Also, you should be able to reset the device if a DAQmx task is not cleared from the board and this will clear any task running on the board.

Please post back with more information and any questions.
