Installation problem ? NI-DAQ 6.9.0 for Windows

Yesterday I downloaded Nidaq69.exe (48.6 MB installation file) together
with
LV6Eng.Exe (24.3 MB) ? LabView English Installation components. After
download
I could not complete the installation successfully. During installation
following error had occurred: ?Error 1311 Source file not found.
D:\National Instrument\NI-DAQ\CABS\daqlv60eng.cab
Verify that the file exists and that you can access it?
Because of this I also have problem during Win98 start up. The message on
Windows startup:
?Can not find a device file that may be needed to start a Window
application.
The Window registry or SYSTEM.INI file refers to this device file, but the
device file no longer exists.
Nissm32k.drv

Press any key to continue?
Please suggest suitable solution.

The correct way of installing the driver is that you download
nidaq69.exe and LV6Eng.exe. Put both the files in the same folder. First double click on nidaq69.exe to extract files and then double click on LV6Eng.exe to extract files.

After that you would double click on the setup.exe files that was extracted from nidaq69.exe and the installer should find the required cab files. Make sure that you choose only LV6 support since you have downloaded only lv6eng.exe for that.

Hope this helps

This assumes that the extraction works. So far even that step results in a goofy error message.
