How to program the daq card to route signals?

Hi,

I would like to program the daq card to route signals, for example from DIO0 to
DIO1. All this should happen without Labview, directly on the board. Is this possible?

What I want to do, is to get a lot of signals as inputs and output those
signals as they are. Sometimes I need to take one signal through Labview
and make some modifications to it. If I route all the signals through Windows
and Labview will propably cause latency, so I would like to do this at the lowest
level as possible.

Currently I'm using PCI-DAQ 6025E, but this card might not be sufficient for our
needs, so if this is possible with some other card, please share your information.

All information on this matter is highly appreciated.

I was just watching interactive tutorials on NI's website and in one
of those there is a demonstration about MAX Routing Manager, which
can be used to route signals internally. This in propably what I could
use to solve my problem, but I can not find it in MAX. Is the Routing
Manager available only for DAQmx cards or do I have an old version
of MAX/Labview? My version is 6.1.

All advices are highly appreciated.

Hi kaêm,

MAX Routing Manager is only supported with NI-DAQmx devices.

In MAX 4.0 or newer is a table for all NI-DAQmx devices which indicates possible routes that can be made with your device. Routes which can be made directly are marked in green and routes that can be done only between two different terminals are marked in yellow. You can find the table in MAX. First you highlight the device under the NI-DAQmx devices folder. Then find the Device Routes Tab at the bottom of the window.

Hi Petterik,

Thanks for your information. Looks like upgrading LabVIEW to at least version 7 is
the only way to achieve what we want.
