How to downgrade from NI-DAQmx 9.0.2 to 8.7.1?

I have multiple LabVIEW versions on the same WinXP PC. After I have installed NI-DAQmx 9.0.2  for LabVIEW 2009, I have noticed that there is no support for LabVIEW 8 in NI-DAQmx 9.02. Because I need LabVIEW  8.0.1 at the moment , I have uninstalled NI-DAQmx 9.0.2 version and try to install NI-DAQ 8.7.1. But this is not possible, because NI-DAQ  8.7.1 installer shows everything red (i.e. new version already installed). How to solve this problem?  Thank you! Bojan

Hello Bojan,

Please checkout the post here:

I think you need to run msiblast to remove installation.

For cleaning your PC please contact NI support for your country.

Thanks,

Hi Bojan,

I believe that you haven't uninstalled everything from your computer. Can you please create report from MAX to show us what drivers and versions you have still installed on your computer?

I will try to setup PC to see if there is some problem with uninstalling DAQmx 9.

Regards,

Martin

I had to solve this problem by creating an XP virtual machine and installing the older versions of LabVIEW with an older set of drivers on it.  That way I could still use LabVIEW 2009 on my new projects and still go back and support the older applications when needed.

Hey guys,

it is strange, but I just downgraded NI DAQmx 9.0.2 downto version 8.7.2. I have LabVIEW 8.6.1 and Visual Studio 2003 Express, and I tried it on Microsoft Virtual PC with Windows XP.

It is weird.  But I think, that for some reason uninstallation didn't go well in your cases. I believe you had more related drivers or software installed, and not everythink was removed. Therefore, I think to clean your computer as was suggested before would be great. However, It takes some time Smiley Indifferent
