How does DAQ work with acquiring data?

Solved!
Go to solution

I'm sampling 8 channels at 2.5MHz. I need to know if the DAQmx 6133 that I'm using gets each channel at 2.5MHz or if it gets each channel at (2.5/8)MHz. For example if I had one channel it can get up to 2.5MHz, but if I get 8 channels, this channel will get samples at top 312,5KHz (=2.5/8MHz).

Can anyone help me here?

Thanks,

Rafael

Hello Rafael,

The NI 6133 is a simultaneous sampling module.  This means that there is an ADC for each channel on the device.   If you look at the specifications for the NI 6133 you can see the maximum sampling rate is specified as 2.5 MS/second. This is a per channel specification for this device.  So you can sample all 8 channels at 2.5 MS/second instead of having to use the aggregate rate of 2.5/8 MS/second when acquiring on all channels.
