How do I know if I can get microvolt resolution?

I'm using an NI USB-6008 DAQ. I'd like to know whether this device can measure microvolts accurately. Any suggestions?

Hi JoelGR,

The USB-6008 has a minimum analog input range of +/-1V.  Since the analog input resolution of the USB-6008 is 12 bits, the minimum code width is 488 microvolts (2V/2^12).  This means that you cannot accurately acquire a signal below 488 microvolts.  If you are looking for devices with better resolution, you may want to consider some M-series devices or an NI-DMM.
