HW timed

Hi,

Could someone explain this to me: in the HW timed aquisition (for linear position measurement in the counter of a pci 6251) I have to specify a source clock, I understand that at one edge of the clock signal the system aquire a sample, then Why I should specify a sampling rate too?

Thanks

Hi,

Clock Source is the source of the digital clock used to managethe acquisition timing while Rate (Hz) specifies the sampling rate in Hertz. You're right when you say a sample is acquired every edge of the clock signal is detected, it's just that you need to select both a clock source and a sample rate for your HW timed acquisition.

Hope this helps you a little bit.
