Get a hardware trigger on buffer regeneration

Solved!
Go to solution

Hello all,

Is there a straightforward way to get a hardware trigger when AO regenerates a buffer at continuous generation?

I am using NI PCI 6733.

Thanks,

Michael

Hi Michael,

I think that the easiest way would be to use your counter to generate a pulse train that uses the AO sample clock as its source. If you know the number of samples that are in your FIFO, then you can specify how many samples to make that pulse high and how many to make it low so that the total adds up to be equal to the number of samples that you have in your buffer. Here's a good little intro to generating a pulse train with a counter. You can also check the user manual to the 6733 for more information about how your counter works.
