Error -50405 in a DAQ Assistant using USB 6008

I am having a similar problem.  I use the 6008 on both the DO lines and the AI lines.  The error is triggered by my vi that uses the DO portion.  Similar to others it seems to be random.  It  certainly isn't as bad as 50/50, but enough to cause us some trouble.  It takes a full system reboot to get things back to working.  The 6008 runs to a usb hub and then back to a desktop running XP.  Has anyone figured out a solution?

Thanks for the help,
Ryan

Hi Ryan,

Do you see the same behaviour if you take the hub out of the equation and plug directly into a USB port on the PC?

Might be worth posting your code also so that it can be reviewed. Which driver version are you on?

Things seem to be working better with out the hub.  I would really like to continue using he hub.  If anyone has suggestions they would be appreciated.

We are also getting this error with a cDAQ chassis connected directly to a Lenovo laptop.  It seems to clear if you unplug the USB cable and reinsert it.  This is a problem, as the cDAQ chassis is used in a portable final test station in a low volume manufacturing cell.

Any ideas?

As an FYI I am getting the same behavior using a wireless DAQ(WLS-9163 carrier with a NI-9205 module).  When I undo and then re-establish the connection this problem goes away.  Interestingly I do not have this problem with the usb daq I use(NI USB-6009).  Addtionally this problem with the wifi daq does seem intermittent.  I can normally get a couple of acquisitions in before it fails and then the device will not reconnect unless I delete the connection in MAX.

Got the same problem, using USB 6255 OEM. I am using 2 of them, connected to a hub and the hub connected to the USB of a DELL Laptop. The curious thing is that this problem started this week, never happened before. Suggestions ??

i have a similar problem here,

i think it is a hardware problem, and what kind of things you are controlling with the Digital I/Os.

In my application the IO s are used to switch relays and a magnetic relay, now i bet, that the problem is caused by the magnetic relay, and the induction current produced with it, ieven thaugh i am using relays with a zehner diode, which should be canceling that error.

but it still seems as if some current is getting on the usb controller, which causes him to shut down.

by re inserting usb the module runs again.

maybe you have the same problem with the things you are switching...

I am 100 % sure now that it was Laptop problem. That model of laptop was reported to have USB port problem. When I tried later on to use USB mouse on it sometime it stopped to function.

Are you sure it is a USB port problem? I am using NI-USB 6009 DAQ module, sometimes I get this error (actually every time) .

It seems it's a connection problem, unplug and insert the USB cable will clear the error, but after some testing cycles the error happens again.

On my laptop and desktop there is no problem, but this error always happens production line PCs  (HP desktop)
