One other thing to look at is the code itself. Are you doing a lot of static lines in multiple tasks? I've had a few customers that were using lots of lines in lots of tasks and having problems. If you put all the lines in a single task, it resolved their issues. Is this the case with your applications?
Thanks,
Andrew

This is still a problem for us... A technician recently told me that he sees this issue regularly and cycles power to the 9172. We've not yet seen it mid-test, but if that happens once, it could get a lot of higher level management attention.
Has NI duplicated this in the lab and what's the status of the debug effort?

This was a bit of a confusing revalation, but after swapping everything in my test system in a very piecewise fashion, I was able to determine that it seemed to the be processor in the rackmount PC that couldn't keep up with the system.
I deduce that running 4 TS threads of my nature in parallel is placing a severe memory and CPU burden on the PC...
anyways, I swapped out a 1600MHz VIA embedded processor with 1Gb RAM for a 2160MHz Core 2 Duo with 2Gb Ram and have only had one problem since...
hope this info helps someone...

good question, I don't know to be honest with you.
I recalled that this system ran fine with my development PC attached to it which is an Intel core2 CPU 6700 @ 2.66GHz with 2GB ram...so as a final struggle to swim, I threw it back on the system and eveything was working again. then I threw the deployment rackmount PC back on and everything failed again with multiple 9172 and every combination of brand new/used 9104, 9477 and 9205 modules...
if you have a development PC that you used to construct your code and you can put in place as a quick A/B test, I would suggest it....but I don't know the silver bullet on this one.

Hello David,
This issue has been narrowed down specifically to HP computers. Unfortunately the root cause has not been narrowed down. This issue has been filed under Corrective Action Request (102633) and is being looked into. For right now, the best option we have is to manually reset your 9172 when your computer resets, or other users have fixed the problem with a PCI-USB card (I would recommend one with the NEC or VIA chipsets, NOT the ALI) which cost ~$20. Thank you for your patience in this matter.
