DAQPad-6508 on Windows7

I need to convert a LabView App written in LV7.1 under WinXP to LV2012 under Win7 (the LV Version is 32-bit, but the OS is 64-bit).

One of the devices I need to control is a 96-line DAQPad-6508, for 7 ports digital output and 5 ports digital input.

I have DAQmx 9.7.5 installed, but it doesn't recognize the DAQPad-6508:
MAX just shows 'USB\VID_3923&PID_1750\011F6868' and no driver;

the device won't show up either if I call the Property Node 'DeviceNames' of DAQmx System.

If I try to install Traditional DAQ (downloaded TDAQ750) I get
'This version of Traditional NI-DAQ not supported on 64-bit Windows'.

What do I need to do to use DAQPad-6508 with my system?

Lars,

Unfortunately the DAQPad-6508 is an old device that is only supported by Traditional DAQ and not DAQmx. Traditional DAQ is a legacy driver that does not support 64-bit operating systems.

Your best options are either to:

  1. Use 32-bit Windows 7 with Traditional DAQ and your DAQPad-6508.
  2. Consider a new device with DAQmx and 64-bit support. The USB-6509 would be the most direct replacement. The USB-6501 may be a cheaper option if you only need the 12 ports you are using and you don't need programmable power-up states or the higher current drive of the 6509.

Regards,

Simon
