DAQCard6024E - Win7 - Card recognised as "Unknown"

Hi Thierry

My inhouse program is a data acquisition sw (like inca or stg) that can acquire ECU, A/D, CAN,...signals

With XP I use traditional DAQ drivers/Sofware.(Measurement and automation SW ver 2.2.0.3010).

We can set up a meeting sometime so you can have a deeper look into it! are you joining NI Technical Days?

Hello Pol,

Personally I'm not really that familiar with INCA, but can you tell/show me the error you're getting about the drivers.
Do you by any chance have A MAX Report of the old/working set-up?

When you refer to NI Technical Days, can you specify which event you are exactly referring to?

Is this NI Days or an upcoming seminar?

PS: What do you exactly mean with setting up a meeting?

Kind Regards,

Hi,

here is the error message,

I'm talking about NI Technical Days in France, http://france.ni.com/journeesdaq

As far as I understood you are working for NI Belgium, and I am also from Belgium, I was thinking Face to Face meeting might be quicker and easier that by chat.

Thanks

Hello Pol,

I am indeed working for NI Belgium.

I will not be attending or presenting at NI Technical Days in France.

If you have an active SSP program (http://www.ni.com/services/software_benefits.htm), then you can always call in or e-mail via the support inbox, which might speed up the process.

Do you know if you have an active SSP contract?

Setting up an on-site face-to-face meeting with me might not be that easy.

In general applicition engineers do to teach on-site or in-house courses, seminars or perform on-site start-up and/or application assistances.

However, they are not supposed to be on the road all the time.

One important thing that I would still like to reask you is:

- Do you have a MAX Report of the original working system?

- If I understand correctly, then the error you are getting is thrown by external (non-NI) software (eg. inca)?

If this is the case, have you tried contacting the makers/providers of this software (INCA) to know exactly what this error code means?

As you already told from the beginning, the error could be linked to the Unknown Device message in the device manager.

I'm going to look a bit further at some other possible messages and fixes for this "Unknown" categorization in the Device Manager?

I have never seen before that it shows an "Unknown" message in the Device Manager, but does work perfectly from NI MAX.

Kind Regards,

Hello Pol,

Can you try the following steps?

1) First uninstall the Plug and Play Device (section "To uninstall a device" of the following document):

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc725782.aspx

2) Reinstall/repair the DAQmx driver you tried earlier on. (Make sure it gets reinstalled or at least something happens).

If necessary, then first uninstall and reinstall.

If any errors or warnings occur, then please take screenshots of them.

3) Now follow the steps of the document above titled "To reinstall a Plug and Play device"

Please take screenshots of the device manager during the process and other special things you might notice.

Kind Regards,
