DAQ calibration

I have a few questions about the M series multifunction DAQ. I need to measure a small voltage accurately, does my DAQ need to be calibrated in order to achieve good signal to noise? If it does would I use the self calibration in MAX or do I need to calibrate it through the DAQmx setup window? Also what are the limits at which the M series DAQ can measure a small voltage accurately?

You can do a search for the specific model number to get the specific manual for your device and below is the general manual.

http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/371022l.pdf

There is a device self calibration section and a analog input range section that can give you more information.

And for people to really help you will need to supply more information when asking questions.

What model M series DAQ are you using?

What is a "very small voltage"?

How accurately do you need to measure the voltage?

And if you have problems with the search function Google usually does a better job finding what you are looking for.
