Controlling another mac(OS 9) by Mac G5(OS X) to do NI-DAQ (PCI-1200 card)

I have a perfecly functioning Power Mac(OS9) using
a PCI-1200 card and NI-DAQ but purchased a Mac G5(OS X).
NI-DAQ is not supported for the G-5 and most PCI-DAQ cards don't even fit in the new Mac. I wonder if I can
do TCP connection to run VIs remotely on the old Mac and get the data into the new Mac. Is it possible?

Do you have LabVIEW on the OS9 Mac machine? If so, what version?

Depending on what versions of LabVIEW you have available, it might be possible to set up the VI to run as a web server, or use VI Server to execute it remotely using LabVIEW on both machines.

Here's another solution that uses appletalk (AFP) instead of TCP/IP.

1. Configure the Mac G5(OS X) as a AFP (Apple File transfer Protocol) server.
2. Use the mac(OS 9) and "chooser" to connect to the server via an appletalk network.
3. Acquire the data with the PCI-1200 and the mac(OS 9).
4. Write the data from the mac(OS 9) to a file on the server Mac G5(OS X).
5. Read the data from the file using the Mac G5(OS X)

I already use this procedure in my lab so please ask if the procedure isn't clear.
I am sure that a similar procedure could work if you have to use TCP/IP.

Incidently, what kind of mac is the OS 9 machine and what version of Labview and
NI-DAQ do you use? I use a beige powermac G3 with a PCI-1200 board OS 9, Labview 5.0,
and NI-DAQ 6.0.0. I would be very interested to know if you use NI-DAQ 6.6.1.
I am trying to use NI-DAQ 6.6.1 but it seems to crash the machine after about
10 hours of running.
