Connecting a pH probe (from Hamilton) to the NI-9208

Solved!
Go to solution

Dear all,

I am trying to connect an Hamilton pH probe to the NI-9208 module.

The pH probe is connected to a transmitter (Arc Wi 2G Adapter BT)  and the wiring diagram is this one:

So, I have done the connection like that:

Arc 2G Wifi

NI9208

2

COM

3

AI1

4

COM

7 and 8 are connected to a 24VDC

But it is not workin.... What did I do wrong?

Thanks a lot!!!!

As per your transmitter it needs a power source for the 4-20mA channels.

You must connect as per this diagram (NI-9208 will be your PCS),

Thanks a lot Santosh, I'm quite a beginner in all that 🙂

Actually, that's the first thing I've tried, but it seems I did it wrong.

Also I need to connect the COM of the NI-9208 to the GND of the power source, right?

Thank you

Yes, all three - sensor, transmitter and NI-9208 must share the same GND i.e., COM.

Depending on wiring constraints, this also works,

Dear all,

That's me again since I have some problem in connecting a Brooks Mass Flow Controller to the same NI-9208 and a NI-9266 for AO.

Please find below the connections for the MFC.

BrooksMFC_Connections.png

Here is what I did:

MFC Card Connection
1 NI-9266 COM0
4 NI-9208 AI1
5   +
7 NI-9266 AO0
9   -
10 NI-9208 COM-17

Is this right?

Or should I connect as for the Hamilton probes like that (as COM-17 is already connected to '-')?

MFC Card Connection
1 NI-9266 COM0
4 NI-9208 +
5   +
7 NI-9266 AO0
9   COM-17
10 NI-9208 AI-1

Connecting this stuff is definitely not my forte 😉

Thanks a lot,
