So glad you are following my career. Anyway I don't (and have never) actually had a myRIO. I wish I had one, but they just aren't cheap enough for me to blow as an impulse buy (now a $1 raspberry pi zero I couldn't say no to). So I don't know if this advice is applicable, or the steps that it might be missing.
That being said I saw an article on getting USB NI-DAQ hardware working on a raspberry pi zero.
I think some of these steps could be followed to get some basic USB DAQ functionality in a myRIO since both are running a variant of linux on an ARM processor. Not sure if it will work but you could look into it and let the community know what you could get to work.
