Cannot open MAX

Hi,
I receive the following error "The instruction at 0x1c1c2e92 referenced memory at 0x0000040. The memory could not be read" when I try to open MAX. The system is a Pentium II, 328 Meg RAM, Windows NT 4.0 sp6a. It's for a customer who had to replace the hard drive and uses a GPIB (ISA) board. I've tried changing the virtual memory settings to no avail. I've updated all the NT stuff also. MAX version 3.0.1. The GPIB stuff works but I cannot get into MAX.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Follow this KnowledgeBase and see if it fixes your problem.

Also..what is the value for "Version" in "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Internet Explorer" registry key?

Make sure to export your registry for safe keeping.

Thank you very much for your help. Since I couldn't connect to the internet, I just uninstalled Internet Explorer. Now MAX opens.

Thanks again.
