Can't get the CB-68LP to play nicely with PCI-6229

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi, I'm trying to use a PCI-6229 for 4 analog outputs (call them AO0-AO3) and 4 analog inputs (call them AI0-AI3), where the 2 connector blocks I've got are the BNC-2110 and CB-68LP.

Right now they're wired like this:

1. BNC-2110 plugged into Connector 0 (AI 0-15) of the PCI-6229

2. CB-68LP plugged into Connector 1 (AI 16-31) of the PCI-6229

The BNC-2110 part of things works perfectly. I'm using it successfully for 2 analog outputs, and for all 4 of the analog inputs. The connection was intuitively straightforward, by choosing the PCI-6229's AO0 and AO1 channel assignments in the LabVIEW DAQ Assistant, and simply plugging in my wiring into the AO0 and AO1 BNC terminals of the BNC-2110 connector block.

However, I can't figure out how to wire the CB-68LP for analog output to the AO2 and AO3 channels.

My basic, stripped down testing approach so far has been using the NI Measurement &  Automation Explorer:

- I open the dialog box that says "Test Panels: NI PCI-6229: 'Dev 1'"

- I click on the "Analog Output" section, and choose from the "Channel Name" dropdown box

- I've got the "Dev1/ao0" and "Dev1/ao1" channels working with the AO0 and AO1 terminals of the BNC-2110, respectively

- but can't figure out how to wire the CB-68LP to work with the "Dev1/ao2"and "Dev1/ao3" channels

I believe at least part of my problem is that I can't find a pin-out assignment diagram for the CB-68LP.

Never mind, figured out that the PCI-6229's 22 and 55 pinouts on Connector 1 will correspond to the CB-68LP's 22 and 55 screw terminals, allowing for AO2 (i.e., physical channel "Dev1/ao2"). Similar idea for AO3. In hindsight, pretty simple really 🙂 Problem solved.
