You are correct, there is no way to customize the simulated input. Simulated devices were designed to allow you to develop/change your code even when you don't have access to the hardware at the time. They're great if you want to test out some code before purchasing some hardware, or perhaps do some development from your office instead of on the factory floor. Even if you aren't reading in the data you would expect when using the actual hardware, the sine wave should give you a good idea of timing, displaying/saving data, etc.
If you really think you could benefit from the ability to use a custom table, I recommend submitting a
Product Suggestion. It will only take a minute, and I know for a fact that the developers love to hear what customers want!
