I want to use the USB-6008 to measure on a system that is hooked up to other mains powered instruments. This means that the GND connection on the USB-6008 must be closely connected to this instrument ground. The user manual states that this is a category II measurement, and that isn't allowed. Furthermore, measurement are done on humans, so I really want to isolate as much as possible.
My idea for a solution is to isolate the USB-6008 galvanically from the PC. My questions are:
a) Is there such thing as a general purpose USB isolator that can be used for this purpose?
b) Does any of you know about other solutions for this issue?
