AISense NRSE measurement Issue

Hi guys,

I am using a  NI USB 6341 DAQ.

The Issue at hand is  I have to  measure currents   which are small mA range.

But the current  flows because of difference between  DC voltages  which range  from 12 to 24 VDC.

So I connect my Supply Line (12 to 24 V) to  AI Sense  a  Shunt(100 Ohm) and then the AI1 Signal Input. and measure in NRSE mode.

the Signal is grounded as we   see.

Problem: a)   I can only measure the current if the signal is in between +- 10V(thts also right   as its in Datasheet).

                b) What I expect   from AI Sense is that a Floating Line  without any reference to AI ground.

The AISense  always has a potential with respect to the   AI gnd  Irrespective of the source.

Also the DAQ has an Issue (I will make another  thread for it)  the GND Digital, Analog are  connected to Earthing..

What could be a work around  without   H/W changes in the Circuit board and  a new DAQ device.

regards

Akshay
