6036E acquisition takes too much time!!!

Solved!
Go to solution
Hi all!

I have a very strange problem with the NI DAQCard-6036E (PCMCIA) around the measuring time of acquisitions. For example my last try was to measure for 3 seconds, getting 10 samples/sec. So that means 30 samples for all and 10 Hz sampling time. But it took approximately 25(!!!) seconds to finish! I' ve been using PCI-6251 quite a long, but I have not experienced this problem with it yet. If I run the same software on that card it works fine: getting 30 samples with 10 Hz takes ap. 3 seconds. But with this 6036E card acquisitions' durations are very strange..:
For example measuring 100 samples, with 100 sample rate took:
in case of 1 input channel: ~5 secs
in case of 2 input channels: ~2.5 secs
in case of 6 input channels: ~1.79 secs
in case of 8 input channels: ~1.25 secs, so that could be good... but that 25 secs instead of 3 could not...!!!!

Of course if I set the timeout value for the time it should be then it fails with "data not ready yet".
Thanks for any reply,
Zsolt

I'm guessing that it has to do with the issue explained in this KB:
