Did you mean:

When we run an open loop stepper axis past a certain deceleration (100 RPS/S) the steppers rate ramps up to a very high step rate without decelerating (which is much higher that the maximum set in MAX) and locks in that direction.

The recent patches for the PCI-7344 card helped our speed problem but not this one.
We are using 4 axis of the PCI-7344 in open loop stepper mode.

Thanks in advance
George

I am not sure how to answer your question but I am interested to know if you saw this problem before you added the patch or not. If I understood your question correctly, when you try to decelerate at a higher rate than 100 RPS/S, the motor actually goes faster and does not stop. Is that correct?

Yes, this problem did exist before the patch, but at a lower speed before the patch.
Your assumption regarding the problem is correct. It does not stop. The step rate increases to well beyond the capabilities of the stepper motor. The other three axis continue to operate correctly. It is axis2 which we have the problem with and it occurs in Pickmult5.vi.
I will attach my application.
Thanks for your prompt response
