Using FindIndex with motorless encoders

I have a PXI-7344, running 2 motors/encoders and 2 other encoders that rotate (like a pendulum) but have no motors attached. How do I get FindIndex to work on the motorless encoders? The "profile complete" and "move complete" status bits come on but "index found" does not. Any ideas?

VDL,

Are you rotating the encoder by hand? You can use a FindIndex with a motorless encoder but you will need to rotate the encoder by hand to have it find the index.
