Tutorials or Lessons for controlling a stepper motor using labview

Hello! I want to build a vi in order to control a step motor. I use a 6024E card and an RTA motor driver which requires 2  inputs  :
one for the frequency (square TTL pulse) and one input for the direction.

A)Are there any lessons, tutorials, books, vi's  etc on how to build this vi?

The stepper motor is on a monochromator (a device for spectrum analysis). The light signal goes to a photomultiplier which converts light to current. The output of this photomultiplier goes in the 6024E card in order to measure its value.
So, the vi that I want to build should have following basic function. Move the motor from point a to b on a specific step frequency and on the same time measuring the rms value of the photomultiplier with a controllable sample rate.

B) Any help on this one?

blackind,

there are many threads in this forum that discuss why a DAQ-board like the 6024E is not a good fit for controlling motors. A very basic reason is the fact, that it is impossible to generate a real trajectory profile with acceleration/deceleration ramps and control the position at the same time. Without ramps the maximum velocity of steppers is very limited.
Please have a look at this thread for more information.
