Incompatible function with CVS 1458RT and Softmotion

Hi,

Here is the setup :

9144 EtherCAT Chassis with 9263 Module and 9411 / Wired with CVS 1458RT

I tried with using 2 axis with the "2 axis servo Interface (9263 & 9401)"

I changed all FPGA reference with "user defined variable" but some fonction in the RT vi isn't compatible with the RT target.

ex. : NI Softmotion Scan - Initialize Timer ...

Sub VI not supported in current target. Why it's not working on a CVS 1458RT ?

Hope you can help.

Thank you,

Patrick

Hi,

Unfortunately the VI you are using "Initialize Timer" is not supported on Linux RT targets which your CVS 1458RT runs: http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/371093P-01/nismlvhlp/smscan_inittimer/

Any chance it's gonna be compatible some day?

Hi,

Unfortunately, this feature will most probably not be added for Linux RT targets since there is another way to synchronize the FPGA and RT on those targets. You can take a look at the 9503 Position Profile sample project in order to see how they synchronize the scan engine and FPGA. They are using the Sync Event in nanoseconds.

I hope this helps!
