LabVIEW User Group Meeting - Thursday 1/15/15

Please join us for the next LabVIEW User Group Meeting on Thursday, 1/15 at 5 PM. Note that the location has changed to Quaker Steak and Lube (4900 South Moorland Road, New Berlin, WI). This is just down the street from StoneFire Pizza in New Berlin where we had been doing the UGMs.  NI

LabVIEW Champion and Certified LabVIEW Developer Jeff Bohrer of Joy Global will be presenting an introduction to the Unit Test Framework (UTF) and how it fits within the lifecycle management of good software engineering practices. Following the introduction, Certified LabVIEW Consultant Kamal Gupta from Sentient Revolution will show a couple of different examples of how to use the UTF to help validate and maintain sections of code.

Time permitting, we will dive into best practices and how-to for code reviews in LabVIEW. In the future, I’d like to make code reviews a part of the UGM. It’s a good beginning or ending activity where people can volunteer their code and we will break off into groups to review.

Dinner (taco bar buffet) and non alcoholic drinks will be provided. Officially, the meeting ends at 7 PM, but unofficially it usually continues on until 8 or 9 PM as we move to the bar area and continue networking. The registration link is located here ->
http://sine.ni.com/nievents/app/offering/p/offeringId/1844466/site/nic/country/us/lang/en.  Bring your questions for the group or if you have something you'd like to discuss, or give a short presentation on, please post it to the community page at www.ni.com/milwaukee.

Regards,

-Craig
