Good presentation Mathis, great tips and solid advice for passing exams there.

Aobut the next session, I'd be happy to show some code during a code review - based on the reusable project library (lvlib) structure myself and Mathis were talking about at the end of the session. Couple of things I'm not sure about though - the date of the next session - and if it's pitching the content at the right level?

Cheers,

Martin

That sounds like a great idea. I just remember your exciting presentation about the subsea ROV drills in January and would be very much looking forward to see what you present. I know exactly the dilemma about level you are talking about. Things that are cold coffee to some will be a revelation to others and way over the heads of others again: have fun getting that one right and don't make our heads explode

I would very much like to take a break from presenting at the next meeting but could present at the one after.

I am currently working on a framework for creating Teststand user interfaces in LabVIEW. Everyone who had the joy of digging into this knows how unintuitive the API is. Apparently it makes total sense to .net programmers but as it so happens the majority of LabVIEW developers won't be as skilled with .net as they are with LabVIEW. I'm working on an object oriented approach which is based on a one-size-fits-all core class which has an application specific child class. All callback registration is abstracted away from the user. Two issues arising are: I think only a small minority of the user group attendees use Teststand and only a small part is using object oriented programming in LabVIEW so interest might be limited.

Other topics I could talk about are integrating and interfacing Matlab/Simmulink models in test rig cRIO code or lessons learned from using custom board designs using single board RIOs.

Good morning everyone,

Great to hear positive responses to the last user group - thank you Mathis for speaking - we are in the process of confirming details for the next meeting but anticipate this to be 20th July at Warwick University hosted by Sophie and Ashley who attended last week. Sophie would like to deliver a session about her PhD research but we are certainly looking for another presenter.

Chris is away on holiday this week but as soon as he's back I am sure he will add to this thread and we can get it all booked and in place!

Hi All,

I'd be happy to present at a future meeting (Maybe about LV performance/tools for measuring it as this was mentioned in the last meeting).

It looks like there's plenty of volunteers for the next one (and I'm not around unfortunately), so if people are still interested (or have other suggestions) for future meetings just let me know!

Chris
