Hi Chris,

I plan on being there.

I tried the  LINX and it looked good.  Do I have to get a Redboard? My real UNO and MEGA are away on holidays until this weekend.

I have been looking around for something like that but missed that somehow...

I'm looking forward to the presentations.

best regards

Mike

Hi there - just found a great (THE) makerhub forum.

https://www.labviewmakerhub.com/forums/

Seems that Sam is very active here.   I recall asking about using github at a LabVIEW session in Melbourne - and the presenter pointed out that github is intended for source, at which it is in my view very good, but apparently it can be used for 'raw' data which includes .vi files.

Hi Mike,

I have not tried it, but it looks like LINX will work with Arduino UNO and Mega.

Yes, LabVIEWMakerHub will be featured tonight.

See you tonight.

Chris.

Turns out that I needed NI-VISA. Why does NI make it so difficult?  See posting on makerhub ...  now I can connect even some clones - but I have a problem with the example blink VI - bah

Yes, you will need NI VISA to communicate over the USB/Serial ports.

NI separate LabVIEW into modules or installers, ie LabVIEW Development Environment, RT, FGPA, Add-ons, Device Drivers etc.  Altogether, they are too large to install as one package!

Hi Chris - I have NIVISA and it turns out that I might have an old LINX - how can I tell? It is less than a week old - inspired by your meeting announcement.

I'm in discussion with Sam here at https://www.labviewmakerhub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=924&p=5361#p5361

So I got my MEGA working on LINX with some (lots of) help from makerhub.  This has so many cool applications.

Also looks like I have to make a big decision on 22nd October for Session 8 - two really interesting topics at the same time...
