lambdaphysik laser

Hi,

need somebody's help:
we've got this lambdaphysik excimer laser LPX305i. it came with
computer program to control it, which is some DOS program and as such
only runs under DOS. It addresses the laser by way of some strictly
LambdaPhysik fiber optic interface board. I wanted to make my own
program in Labview to control the laser, because there are some other
things we want hooked up to computer, but I don't think LV supports that
fiberoptic interface, it's not GPIB, nor RS232, not anything else as far
as i understand. LambdaPhysik doesn't provide any compatibility with LV
either. Yet I heard these things can be done. So if anybody out there
can give me a word of advice on how I integrate that fiber optic stuff
into LV, it will be
greatly appreciated. I realize it sounds too
indeterminate and uncertain, but may be there is somebody who's done
something like this in the past.
Thanks
Yuri.

Obviously this is a really old thread, but for those who find this while searching the web:

the DOS programm which controls the laser can be itself be controlled by a second computer hooked up via RS232. Just have a look at the manual.
