Strain gage

Good morning .

I am making a study to measure elongation in bars of a lattice. I am interested in use strain gages. This options make me afraid of, because the lattice has a great vibrations. Will the measure of elongation be affected by the vibrations?

Thank you.

Hi AbelCoyan,

yes, it will. You can gather further information from the following links:

The use of strain gauges in vibration-based damage detection

When using strain gauges to measure vibration of a beam, what is typical signal to noise ratio?

Hope it helps!
