Hi,
I need to measure the dissipation factor of a capacitance.
Do you any idea on how to do this with NI HW ?
I planned using a PXIe-4082 DMM to measure the capacitance. But this device is not able to return the dissipation factor.
But maybe it can be calculated if I am able to measure the ESR (see link).
Would it be possible with NI HW ?

Hello CyGa,
As far as I understand there is no NI hardware that can read directly the dissipation factor itself.
My recommendation would be to calculate the capacitance and get the ESR indirectly manipulating the equation (clear the equation).

Hi,
In order to calculate the dissipation factor I need to measure the ESR (and not the reverse operation).
Is there any NI instrument which could return the ESR of a capacitance ?
