BASICs for Calibration of Sound Level Measurement System

Hello fellow professionals,

I have a small amount of knowledge for microwave test system calibration.

I need advices for SOUND level measurement project.

Please advise me.

Background:

I am using the Sound and Vibration toolkit a USBDAQ with NI 9234 for two microphones.

Measurement Objective:

To get a sound level in urban area.

My Guessing:

1. Connect Calibration Kit to microphone.
2. run CAL Kit( 1Khz, 94dB)
3. measure sound level( if measured value is 93dB )
4. compensate the level ( store CAL data file, 1KHz +1dB)

Question:

1. Please advise me about 'MY Guessing'.
2. what kind of CALIBRATION s/w do I need?
3. There is no proper information on  9234 Calibration guide, advise me the documents on this kind of CAL.
4. If 'My Guessing' is correct, how can I control 9234 gain or measured value?
