smart cam 177X, increase frame rate ?

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi,

I would like to know if the new smart cam generation 177X offer the possibility to reduce the vertical resolution in order to increase the frame rate, with VBAI. (It works for the older models).

Thanks,

Unfortunately, the binning functionality is not supported with the new 177x series.

And does partial scan increase the frame rate ? It seems to be integrated in the emulator.

On the 177x-series devices, partial scan is s not supported in the sense that acquiring a smaller frame size does not increase the rate the sensor can be acquired from. You can change the AOI and capture a smaller frame, but the maximum frame rate does not go any faster. Since these new models already have much faster sensors (faster or almost as fast at full-frame as the previous generation was at partial scan), the need for partial scan should be greatly reduced. If the problem is just data rate for image processing, you can of course still capture a smaller AOI which will reduce the amount of data captured.

Thank you for your prompt reply.

Partial scan is an interesting feature for large sensors, which generaly have a lower frame rat, in applications that require a flat field of view.

Hope this will be added in the futur.
