while using NI 1424 frame grabber i am stuck with this problem if anyone can help me out? in user manual of NI 1424 i found that there are 4 external I/O pins available , which can be used for triggering the camera externally. Can you plz let me know how to use this external I/O pins for triggering purpose? I need step wise process in order to implement it.
Thank you for using National Instruments Discussion Forums. The 4 triggers on the 1424 card are all referenced as External Triggers 0 - 3. If you look in the "Example Finder" in LabVIEW and do a search for "LL Triggered Snap" there is a very simple example of how to setup a triggered acquisition with this board. You reference each trigger by setting the "Trigger Type" to "External" and then "Trigger Number" to the corresponding trigger you would like to use. You will see on the block diagram the proper steps for setting this up and how you use the "IMAQ Configure Trigger2.vi" to setup the triggering. Also note on the "IMAQ Configure Trigger2.vi" there is an input parameter called "Trigger Action" that will determine what action is taken when a trigger is detected. The help documentation for these VIs is very helpful and I encourage you to read through it to understand what is going on in greater detail. All of the trigger inputs on the 1424 are all standard TTL that require a 0 - 5Volt signal. I hope this information helps. Thanks and have a great day.
