cropping the image

Hi I have been trying to crop the image defined only by the bounding box of the hole using the Imaq Extract vi but i Can't quite do it succesfully. Can you show me how to use this function? Since I have many figures can one automatically do cropping of this particular ROI since hole doesn't appear at the same locations in the image.

Attached is my suggestion.  The only thing you might have to play with is the minimum threshold and that is only because of the thickness of the plate on the left side of the hole.  I will attach an image and the vi because I am not sure what version of LV you have.  This was done in 8.5.1.
