VBAI - "Not enough memory to complete this operation"

I have a problem with VBAI 2010. I started a fresh new inspection:

- "Simulate Acquisition" and select a 9MB jpg file (800dpi, grayscale, 2000x27716pix) - no error

- "Detect Texture Defects" - and click "New" on the "Texture Classifier File Path" dialog box

- "NI Texture Training Interface" new Window pops up, and then it crash with error "Not enough memory to complete this operation" (see attached file)

- Task Manager shows that the virtual memory VBAI used is ~1GB!

Why did this happen? Here are my computer configuration:

- 3GB RAM, 3.0GHZ, Windows XP

- Paging file is 4603MB in C:\. I checked with defragment tool, it is in one fragment (one continuous piece)

In 2017，coming to 2018，I can still get this error in vbai，great.

Try using the the 64-bit version of VBAI that was introduced a few years ago with a machine that has at least 6GB of RAM to get better performance. 32-bit applications are limited to 3GB and with large images this can quickly run out of contiguous memory.
