Hi.
I've extracted the green color plane from a 32-bit RGB image, turning it into a 8-bit greyscale image. But I do not understand why this operation returns a grayscale image. Why don't both the red and blue color plane remain? And what significance does the green color plane have in visual images, except it's color (i.e does it contribute to sharpness, contrast etc.)?
