NI-IMAQ for IEEE1394

According to NI Catalog 2001 National Instruments offers IEEE 1394 camera
driver software that is compatible with LabVIEW and IMAQ Vision.

There are a lot of PCI IEEE 1394 boards on market (for example IEEE1394 OHCI
PCI Board
PCIFW1U from RATOC Systems, Int.).

Sony have a rage of IEEE 1394 Digital Cameras for machine vision: DFW-V300,
DFW-V500, DFW-VL500, DFW-X700/DFW-SX900 and XCD-X700/XCD-SX900. The output
from this cameras is Non-Compressed YUV Digital Output. For example output
from DFW-V300 is 640 x 480 YUV(4 : 1 : 1), YUV 8 bit each.

Have anybody successfully integrate NI IEEE 1394 camera driver software,
some PCI IEEE 1394 board, any SONY IEEE 1394 Digital Camera, LabVIEW and
IMAQ Vision? Is this possible?

NI-IMAQ Driver Softwa
re is shipped with IMAQ hardware. How to obtain NI IEEE
1394 camera driver software? Is there some Run-Time licence for this
software?

I just answered this question (it's a popular one and a good one). Checkout The response for IEEE1394 support. The web site :
http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/3efedde4322fef19862567740067f3cc/afded7f599e8a73a8625689e007672e5?OpenDocument&Highlight=0,firewire,imaq

I did a search of the Knowledge base with firewire and imaq

Hope this helps,

This is actually a further question. Brad's answer is pretty clear in general terms. But does anyone have information on the performance. For example, Sony DFW-V500 claims to do 640X480(4:2:2)8bits 30fps. Has anyone done this in any extended amount of time? For how long and using what PC(processor, amount of RAM, what hard disk)? With IMAQ? I need that kind of data rate for (ideally) 5 minutes.
