Labview : passing image reference : use coersion or flatten to string (ref)

Hi,

That was the whole point. Instead of benchmarking myself, I would like to know when to use one or when to use the other.

Suppose coersing the imageref to a string performs best, what would be the usecase of flattening the reference?

(Because they made a specific VI for it).

Generally the "IMAQ Flatten Image to String" VI is used with the "Image" or "Image and Vision Info" options. I am not aware of any use cases for the "Reference to Image" option. It may be there for legacy reasons, or some exotic use cases.
